Veneer Plywood (Commercial Plywood)

A stable, aesthetically pleasing, and easy-to-apply material solution.

Product overview

Veneer plywood, also known as commercial plywood, is made from multiple layers of natural wood veneer pressed tightly together with high-quality glue. The veneer coating on the surface helps the product retain the natural beauty of real wood, while being much more cost-effective than solid wood.

At Sao Viet Plywood, we offer a wide variety of surface veneer options to suit different needs and markets. Our factory is equipped with modern automated production lines, strict quality control, and numerous international certifications, ensuring our products always meet the most stringent standards from global markets.

Outstanding advantages

  1. High aesthetic appeal, luxurious like natural wood.

Veneer plywood is covered with veneer from woods such as Okoume, EV, Poplar, or Birch, providing vibrant natural wood grain and the characteristic aroma of real wood. This is an ideal choice for creating sophisticated, luxurious furniture and elevating living spaces.

  1. More cost-effective than solid wood.

With its natural appearance and a price 30–50% lower than solid wood, veneer plywood helps large interior design and construction projects optimize their budgets while maintaining high aesthetics and durability.

  1. Superior mechanical strength, resistant to warping.

The characteristic multi-layered cross-laminated structure of plywood gives the product excellent load-bearing capacity, resistance to warping and cracking, and minimizes expansion when exposed to moisture. This is a significant advantage over veneer-coated MDF in practical applications.

  1. Safe for health, environmentally friendly.

Veneer plywood uses a much lower proportion of glue compared to particleboard or MDF. The main material is natural wood, which undergoes strict quality control and has very low formaldehyde emissions (E0, E1, CARB P2). This not only ensures user safety but also meets international standards in demanding markets.

  1. Easy to process and versatile in application.

Thanks to its lighter weight compared to natural wood, plywood veneer is easy to bend, cut, plane, drill, paint, or apply additional finishes, making it suitable for even complex designs. This versatility allows designers and manufacturers to create a wide variety of interior design solutions for commercial projects.

  1. Effective protection against moisture and termites.

Sao Viet’s Veneer Plywood is manufactured with a moisture-resistant glue-pressed core and a protective paint coating on the surface, enhancing water resistance and effectively preventing termite infestation. The meticulously finished natural veneer ensures durability while preserving the beauty of real wood, minimizing damage when used in high-humidity environments. This is an ideal choice for interior applications such as kitchen cabinets, partitions, or projects requiring long-term aesthetic appeal.

What is the difference between plywood and particleboard? Which one is more durable?
    - Plywood: Consists of multiple thin layers of wood veneer pressed together with high-quality glue, offering superior bending strength, load-bearing capacity, and moisture resistance. Suitable for applications requiring durability such as furniture, shelving, flooring, or structures.- Ván dăm (Particle Board): Được ép từ dăm gỗ, mùn cưa và keo. Ưu điểm là giá rẻ, bề mặt phẳng, dễ phủ bề mặt. Tuy nhiên, khả năng chống ẩm kém, dễ nở hoặc biến dạng trong môi trường ẩm, thường dùng cho nội thất giá rẻ.
Kết luận: Xét về độ bền và tuổi thọ, ván ép có ưu thế vượt trội hơn ván dăm.
Can plywood be coated with UV paint?
Yes. Plywood can be coated with UV paint to increase gloss, scratch resistance, and enhance aesthetics. Currently, Sao Viet Plywood does not have a UV coating line at its factory. However, we can support UV processing through our partners if customers require it (additional costs will apply).
Can plywood be used in humid environments (such as bathrooms)?
Plywood offers better moisture resistance than particleboard, but in consistently humid environments (bathrooms, outdoors), specialized moisture-resistant plywood (waterproof plywood) or additional protective surface coatings such as melamine or laminate should be used. Regular plywood used in humid environments for extended periods still risks damage.
Is Commercial PPlywood resistant to termites?
Standard commercial plywood does not possess the same natural termite resistance as some hardwoods. However, during manufacturing, we can use specialized adhesives and additional treatments to enhance termite resistance. Furthermore, surface coatings such as veneer, melamine, or laminate can also help limit termite infestation. For use in high-risk termite areas, customers should choose plywood that has been specifically treated for termite resistance or incorporate additional protective measures during construction.
Does Sao Viet plywood meet the EUTR (European Timber Regulation) compliance requirements?
Yes, we fully comply with EUTR, ensuring the legal and transparent origin of the timber.
