Finger Jointed Wood

An ideal choice for interior design, construction, and export wood products.

Laminated wood panels are a high-tech wood product created by joining short pieces of wood together using finger joints and adhesive bonding under high temperature and pressure. This process produces panels with high stability, resistance to warping, and a natural aesthetic.

Quality Description Image
A/A A/A laminated wood is currently the highest quality available. Both sides of the wood are beautifully finished, free of knots or dark lines, and have a harmonious and uniform color.
A/B It consists of one side that meets quality standard A (very good) and one side that is of lower quality.
A/C A/C laminated wood consists of a high-quality A side and a significantly lower-quality C side, often with dead knots, black lines, and uneven color.
B/C B/C laminated wood consists of a B side and a C side, is of rather poor quality, has unattractive colors, and may have defects.
C/C This is the lowest quality type of laminated wood, with both sides being Grade C – lacking aesthetic appeal and often having many defects.

Outstanding advantages

  1. High quality, stable hardwood

Made from natural wood with good hardness, no termites, little warping. When joined by finger joint technique, the board becomes more solid and stable, suitable for both indoor and semi-outdoor environments.

  2. Beautiful aesthetics, natural wood grain

The surface has natural color, vivid wood grain, easy to paint or keep rustic. This is an ideal choice for high-end furniture and modern design.

  3. Reasonable price, cost optimization

Produced from small wooden bars joined together using advanced technology, both maximizing the use of raw materials and reducing costs compared to solid natural wood, providing a budget-saving solution while still ensuring high quality.

  4. Outstanding durability and stability

The interlocking mortise and tenon structure helps to evenly distribute stress, minimizing warping, shrinkage and cracking. Thanks to that, the product has the ability to withstand force and impact effectively, meeting the strict requirements in construction and interior design.

  5. Easy to process, flexible application

With its uniform surface and stable structure, Finger Jointed Wood is very convenient to cut, plan, drill, join, as well as paint or veneer. This saves time, construction costs and brings flexibility in design.

  6. Environmentally friendly, sustainable development

The product uses entirely planted forest wood, minimizing the exploitation of natural forest wood. This is a safe choice for consumers and contributes to environmental protection, towards the goal of sustainable development.

How does Finger Joiinted wood differ from solid natural wood and other engineered wood products?
Finger-jointed wood is manufactured from small pieces of wood joined together using mortise and tenon joints and specialized glue, optimizing material usage. Compared to solid natural wood, it is more affordable and less prone to warping and splitting. Compared to engineered wood (such as MDF and particleboard), finger-jointed wood has superior mechanical strength and load-bearing capacity, while retaining the beauty of natural wood.
What types of laminated wood panels are there?
Based on the joining method, laminated wood panels are divided into four main types, each with its own characteristics in terms of durability, aesthetics, and application: Finger Joint: Joined vertically with a zigzag serration, increasing contact area and strength, suitable for long planks requiring tensile strength. Finger Butt Joint: Joined horizontally with a serrated structure, creating a strong connection for short planks, often used in large-sized furniture. Edge Glued Panel: Joined multiple planks in parallel to create a wide surface, saving material and increasing stability. Scarf Joint: Joined planks at a special angle, often used in decorative or artistic products with high aesthetic requirements. Finger Butt Joint: Joined horizontally with a serrated structure, creating a strong connection for short planks, often used in large-sized furniture. Edge Glued Panel: Joining multiple planks in parallel to create a wide surface, saving material and increasing stability. Scaff Joint: Joining planks at a special angle, often used in decorative or artistic products with high aesthetic requirements.
Is the durability and lifespan of laminated wood panels guaranteed?
Yes. Thanks to modern lamination technology combined with a rigorous pressing and drying process, laminated wood panels have high mechanical strength, minimize warping and cracking, and have a long lifespan, equivalent to or even exceeding many types of natural wood.
Can laminated wood panels be used outdoors?
Laminated wood panels are sensitive to high temperatures and humidity. Prolonged direct contact with water can cause the wood to blister, reducing its lifespan and affecting its aesthetic appeal. Therefore, laminated wood panels are more suitable for indoor applications.
Can Sao Viet Plywood manufacture products to custom sizes and specifications?
Yes. We meet a wide range of customer requirements regarding size, thickness, type of adhesive, type of coating, and other technical specifications, suitable for various applications in interior design, construction, or export according to international market standards.
Can Sao Viet supply Finger Jointed Wood in large and consistent quantities?
With our large production capacity and advantageous location in the heart of Northern Vietnam's timber resources, we consistently ensure a stable supply in terms of both quantity and price, meeting the demands of large orders and ensuring regular deliveries.
Are the raw materials used in Sao Viet's Finger Jointed Wood production FSC® certified?
We use sustainably sourced timber, with a high percentage of it being FSC® certified, ensuring legality, environmental friendliness, and compliance with international standards for sustainable development.
